         Diane Eshin Rizzetto is a Zen teacher who has been teaching and practicing for 40 years. A former abbot and founder of the Bay Zen Center in Oakland, CA, she is also a co-founder of the Ordinary Mind Zen School, a non-denominational approach to cultivating awareness in the activities of daily life. She is the author of Waking Up to What You Do: A Zen Practice for Meeting Every Situation with Intelligence and Compassion (Shambhala, 2005) and Deep Hope: Zen Guidance for Staying Steadfast When the World Seems Hopeless (Shambhala, June, 2019). Her teachings are also included in: Beyond Anger: How to Hold On to Your Heart and Your Humanity in the Midst of Injustice (Shambhala, 2014) and The Hidden Lamp: Stories from Twenty-Five Centuries of Awakened Women, by Zenshin Florence Caplow and Reigetsu Susan Moon (Shambhala, 2013).
